Connected via standard ethernet cable from laptop to ps2. Auto or manual doesn't matter, as soon as it tries/connects to the samba share the console hangs (the spinning dots freeze). I have a smb share called playstation2 where all my ps2 games are, this share works perfectly in windows and on all my android devices, but not on the ps2 itself, i get.

The reason for this is that my opl smb share has all my games and mc files, this way i don't. I'm connecting to a samba share on linux. 304 cannot list smb shares in opl. I’ve configured my opl folder share from my laptop’s hdd.
Your gateway might also need to be 192.168.2.1. In my setup, i had to create a user and password to get onto my games share.
