Does the ogive shape make a difference in the lrx? Anyone have experience with the newer cx bullets from hornady? How does the 130 gr gmx from hornady compare to a 129 gr barnes ttsx of the same weight, in accuracy and performance on game?

All are designed to more reliably open up at slightly lower velocity. I'm trying to decipher if the hornady cx's are an even better mouse trap. Barnes are not likely pure copper either.

I've been shooting b140 barnes ttsx over 79.5 grains of viht n165 but i picked up some of hornady's cx bullets to try. Anybody out here have any comparison. I use the barnes ttsx in 2 other hunting rifles and have had great results both in accuracy and performance on animals. How does the hht (90gr) compare with the cx (90gr) and lrx (95gr)?

Barnes makes a pretty good bullet, but in my personal experience the hammer is more accurate, and just as, if not more deadly than the ttsx.
Anyone have any experience this season with the new hornady cx compared to the barnes ttsx in terms of terminal performance? 186gr shock hammer, 185gr barnes ttsx, 185gr hornady cx i have a decision to make on which bullet to load up and take hunting. The first 130gr tsx's i used had a secant ogive. Use the 168 ttsx, 175 lrx, 180 cx or hammers.
It could be the cx is alloyed to make it softer than gmx. Pure copper is relatively soft until it's either heat treated or work hardened. Laelkhunter , dawnpatrol , bradmacmt. From what i can tell the barnes claims the highest bc, followed by hammer and hornady comes in last.
