International 886 Problems Harvester Tractor Information
Last fall, the tractor was getting harder and harder to start even if it was plugged in or warm. I have used them as a loader tractor and it. Most of the 358's starting problems have to do with not knowing how to start them.

Getting the ol' 886 out of hibernation and need some help. Should have fixed it last. As long as the starter spins when bypassing the solenoid the most common problem is a worn contact on the battery cable stud.
My 886 coming into spring had 0 problems.

Find someone who knows how to adjust the shift linkage, learn how the clutch brake works and they are still a very decent tractor.
What is most likely the. The 86 series ih went to wiring the hi and low switches in parrellel by using a relay. In between first and second cutting installed a new (to me) monitor for my liquid app system on 575 nh. However, differences between sources, incomplete listings, errors, and data entry mistakes do occur.

Yesterday it had been for plowing and hour when it started to make a gear ratchet and growl.
There is an overfuel/starting position on the stop cable on the 756/826 tractors that most. I am looking at an 886 international with cab for $8,500. So far replaced clutch, trans brake , flywheel. Remove the cable from the solenoid.
Those were notorious for causing alot of headaches. All of the linkage and shaft going into the range transmission appear to be working properly. I have had shifting problems since buying in 2015. The tractor has 5500 hours, ta, 540/1000 pto, 360 engine, and is in reasonably good shape (starts well and does not burn oil).

We've got an ih 886 that we use for hay work, mowing and plowing our hayfield.
Dad's 886 is havning issues. Does anyone have (or had) an 886 international with the 360 engine (i was told it has two oil filters and a ribbed block) with a cab that is or was satisfied with the tractor? It shifts fair for awhile then gets to scratching the gears again. At around 4500 hours the torque amplifier (ta) of our international 886 series b sometimes slipped and left the tractor at a standstill when under heavy load whilst mould.
Common problem is detent or bolt loose.
