John Deere 450 Dozer Wont Move J Parts
I have a john deere 450c dozer that doesn't seem to have any power moving forward or backwards. Was working fine, went back to start it and worked for a few minutes, then stopped and won't operate now. Previous to that (when we purchased the machine) it.

Also, the directional spool may be misadjusted as well. Check for worn bellcranks, balljoints and such. A neighbor has a 450 track loader for sale.
I have 1966 450 dozer with the hlr and when i put it in r it won't move backward.
No fluid running all over. Then it got to where it wouldn't pull in higher gears. I usually never run in 4th so i thought id try it out. Jd450c dozer will not move.
If it isn't an automatic ,the most probable cause is the drive coupling stripped (no splines). Here is the problem with it. It is a power shift model. My jd 450b crawler/loader won't move.

Most common problem on 450s is the linkage coming loose that connects the mechical clutch pedal to the trans.
It stopped driving in either direction while lightly pushing a small bucket of dirt. The frame moves around alot. It has enough power to move itself but that's about it but very slow. My jd 450b crawler/loader won't move.

It's on a piece of property adjacent to mine, so i wont have to trailer it or anything, but i do need to move it to my shop.
I tried going through the speeds on the left hand side and i noticed them grinding into each. It stopped driving in either direction while lightly pushing a small bucket of dirt on level ground. It looks like i've scored a deal on a 1970 john deere 450 dozer. Happened to a friend of mine when he was pushing tree stumps with a blade.
It started with the steering getting weak. After that i went to 3rd and it engaged but did. Then i cannot get it to move. It has some issues , all the bolts on the fwd cross bar are stretched , stressed and rusted pretty bad.

I have 1966 450 dozer with the hlr and when i put it in r it wont move backward. The engine cranks fine but after i try to turn the speed control knob, the engine will not speed up and won't move.
Should have opened this thread in the dozer section. Now it will barely move and. I tried going through the speeds on the left hand side and i noticed them grinding into each gear. During the first few minutes after start up, dozer will move forward and backward, but as soon as there is a load driveline stops moving.
